As
early as I can remember Greek folk dancing has been part
of my life. With my Mediterranean background in
folkloric dance and the mixture of my love for art,
clothing and textiles, and world culture brought me to
study the art of tribal belly dance. I
began dancing in 2002 with tribal troupe Urban
Gypsy. I thank my belly dance mothers Sahira and
Zymirrah for their guidance and support and introducing
me to this unique dance movement.
I
have traveled the U.S. and continue to do so taking
various workshops and classes from an array of
instructors such as Rachel Brice, Carolena Nericcio (Fat
Chance Bellydance), Megha Gavin (Devyani), Zafira, Cammi
Vance, Sharon Kihara, Domba, Ansuya, Heather Stants,
Raqia Hassan, Jill Parker (Ultra Gypsy), Sharon Moore (Infusion),Tempest,
Tribal Evolution, Liquid Hips, Anahata. I’m thankful to
them all for paving my road to dancing.
I
perform at workshops and at various venues, parties,
charity events, and festivals.
I am one of the founding
members Mahalla
Tribal Fusion, and now combining
my passion for dancing,
culture and costuming design
with Sisters of Avalon Dance Co. It’s an honor to
dance with such talented and beautiful women and my hope
is that every woman can experience and celebrate this
beautiful dance form.
