Heleena

Heleena began dancing at the Sirrom School of Dance in January 2001.  Under the direction of Thalia, Shakira Massood-Ali, Cynthia and others, Middle Eastern Dance became a part of her forever.  She is a member of Sirrom Caravan and Troupe Thalia and is the 2007-2008 President of the Houston Area Belly Dance Association.  Over the years, she has performed at various haflas, health fairs, festivals and charity events in the Houston Area.

For Heleena, the enchanting music and the fluid movement of this dance form has made her more centered in and connected to her spirit, mind, body and soul.  She is honored and proud to be a member of Sisters of Avalon and hopes to bring beauty and excitement to their audiences by incorporating cane, zils, sword and veil work in her performances.
